✧ DermShield Bandage:
This is a thin, breathable, waterproof adhesive film your artist applies right after the tattoo. Leave the initial bandage on for 24-48 hours— if it leaks or starts to peel, remove and replace if possible. If the edges remain sealed, you may leave the bandage for 3-5 days. Peel off slowly and gently wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and fragrance-free soap. Continue with unscented lotion 2-3x daily until fully healed.
✧Traditional Bandage:
This is the old-school method using plastic wrap or an absorbent pad. Keep the bandage on for 2-6 hours after your tattoo. Remove before bed (unless told otherwise). Wash hands thoroughly before washing tattoo with lukewarm water and fragrance free antibacterial soap. Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Apply a VERY thin layer of unscented ointment (Aquaphor, Hustle Butter, or artist-recommended) 2–3x daily for the first few days. Switch to a fragrance-free lotion once peeling begins.
🚫 Things to Avoid:
NO swimming, hot tubs, or soaking in baths for at least 2–3 weeks.
NO tanning, direct sun, or tanning beds until fully healed.
Don’t scratch, pick, or peel flakes —let them fall naturally.
Avoid tight clothing rubbing directly on the tattoo.
